Objective: Configure the E1 with the following framing and line coding. Check the status of each port.
Req'd:
Framing: NO-CRC
Line Coding: CAS / HDB3
Config:
Router(config)#controllers e1 1/0
Router(config-controller)#no framing crc4
Router(config-controller)#linecode hdb3
Router(config-controller)#clock source line primary
Router(config-controller)#cas-group 1 timeslots 1-31 type r2-digital r2-compelled ani
Router(config-controller)#cas-custom 1
I'm using 3745 Cisco Router and setting up a 4 E1 ports to be open. My provider gave me the specs above, to configure. After i done this. We run some test, unfortunately the test was a failure. When issue the command show controller E1, the ports were down. I also check the voiceport, show voice port, the in and out status were idle and operation is down. My question is how do i resolve this problem? what possibly cause this? is there anything wrong with my config?
Thnks.Kindly notify me as soon as possible

What exactly are you getting when you do
sh controller e1 ??
Could you upload the e1 config? (Use sh run and copy from there)

The ports was up now. follow up question.
When i test the call, everytime i monitor the calls, it shows "no circuit available". i try using the debug commands but no logs were displayed. what is wrong with this?i can't figure it out (it is obvious that my port were up, how come i got an error message no ciruit?). the provider said that the trunks were already open. but i can't make a call.

Hi,
to answer your questions without the relevant parts of your config is impossible. So can you please post your E1 controller config and the voice config (cut out security related things like passwords and the like).
Regards, Martin

I'm getting cause 500-Internal Server Error and cause 34-no circuit. When i try to test a call using sip i see logs of my last call, but when try using h323 i see none. My point is what could be the reason why can't i make a calls. All the framings and line codings specified by our provider (hdb3, r2 signalling, no crc) are already specified in my config.

So you have Slip Secs...
I'm thinking if you need this command: network-clock-select
09-04-2006 09:52 PM
its no use. im still getting no circuit error. what else? and i issue a command show voice port summary, it shows
IN OUT
PORT CH SIG-TYPE ADMIN OPER STATUS STATUS EC
========= == ============ ===== ==== ======== ======== ==
1/0:1 18 r2-digital up up seized idle y
Does it mean that our provider is blocking our calls?

I had issues with R2 that cleared up when rebooting. Turned out - IOS bug.
