hallo

I need to implement voip over a FR PVC.

The FR encapsulation is IETF (not Cisco).

Can I use fragmentation (FRF.12) and RTP header compression (cRTP) ?

Hello

Encapsulation type frame-relay cisco and frame-relay ietf are not tied with FRF.12 and cRTP. So you can freely use them in your implementation.

Hi,

Please take a look at the following url:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/788/voice-qos/voip-ov-fr-qos.html

"At the absence of a standard, cRTP for Frame Relay was developed on Cisco Proprieatary encapsulation. Therefore, it does not work with Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) encapsulation of Frame Relay. Recently, FRF.20 was finalized to make RTP header compression possible on IETF encapsulation. However, as of the last update of this document (May, 2002), FRF.20 is not supported"

Thanks,

Chinh

Hi, Chinh

your response at my question isn't in accord with the previous response from another CCIE engineer.

I think that I should beleave in your response as you are a TAC engineer.

Is it right ?

best regards
