FXO disconnect

I have an issue with disconnection on FXO port. If I call and someone answers and both of us hang up at the same time then the call is disconnected but if the call is answered by an answering machine, the FXO will not disconnect the call for few minutes.

A loop start phone line normally has no disconnect supervison, so your router does not know when the caller hangs up. Not a problem with a person on each end, but machines are not so smart. Here is a good doc on the issue that explains the options for fixing it. With most telco switches converting to ground start is your best choice, but you will need to ask.
