I have 1 gatekeeper and multiple GW i want to be able to use one gw as a primary route but if this fails use the second one.
I have configured the gatekeeper with gw-priority as below but if the first gateway is still up and working and the call fails because the dial-peer pointing to the destination is unavailable it does not use the second gateway in the GK.
Am i doing something wrong, do i need to add something to the dial-peer on the GW?
zone prefix gk-ht-zn-pstn-nat 9* gw-priority 10 n4-dry-host-vgw-04
zone prefix gk-ht-zn-pstn-nat 9* gw-priority 9 n4-dry-host-vgw-01
zone prefix gk-ht-zn-pstn-nat 9* gw-priority 9 n4-dry-host-vgw-04
zone prefix gk-ht-zn-pstn-nat 9* gw-priority 6 n4-dry-host-vgw-01
Remember, priority of 10 means "always" route to this endpoint, and priority of 0 means "never" route to this endpoint.
Also of note, something that "burns" me from time to time -the GK can also route on tech-prefix alone. If there are other gateways in this zone, with the same tech prefix, they will be given a priority 5 by default and load balanced accordingly for prefixes other than 9*. Verify this with "show gatekeeper gw-type-prefix.
