MWI and Outlook Preview

Users who get their voice mail through Outlook have the preview pane open. When a message is viewed through the preview pane , the MWI is turned off even though the message wasn't played.

Is there anyway that the MWI will not turn off unless the message is actually played?

I don't think it is possible, but thought I would throw it out there.

There is a setting that tells Outlook to not mark a message as read when viewed through the Preview Pane. In Outlook, go to Tools -> Options -> Other -> Preview Pane/Reading Pane (depending on your version). Uncheck the first check box. Users will then have to double-click a message for it to be marked as read and therefore turn off the MWI.
