hi folks:
We intend to use PGW2200 to interface SS7 then connect to AS5400 which then route call to sip proxy.
What options do I have to order for PGW2200? Can I use AS5400 as SLT?I am really new to PGW2200. Would very appreciate if someone can help. Thanks a lot.

Hi Ita,
Yes, you can use AS5400 (with Integrated SLT IOS).
When designing your network for PGW with SIP proxy it means you are using your PGW in Call-Control mode.
When purchasing hardware (SUN Hardware) for PGW you have to consider the expected cps, memory and the processor based on your requirements.
For further information send me a mail.

hi Defash:
Thanks for your reply. Which license do I have
to order if PGW were in call-control mode? I checked
the Cisco website but not very clear about this. Thanks again for your help.

Hi Ita,
For Call-Control functionalities the following
information will be helpful:
A) SFB22-CC-9.5.2 PGW 2200 Application Software Ver 9.5(2) on CD.
B) SWP22-CC-RTU PGW 2200 (Call Control) Voice or Dial RTU License, 1k Ports
C) MGC-120-AC11-2 Redundant Sun Sunfire v120 with 1 CPU, 2GB mem
Note:
The information above is meant for PGW version 9.5.2; other higher releases are available from Cisco.
On the SUN hardware that is the base configuration, you can get SUN v440 base on your network requirement.
Please remember the configuration of PGW in call-control is not as straight forward as other configuration on Cisco web site, so thorough consultation will be required.
I hope this information will be helpful.
Cheers
