Call Manager and Unity are connected to a Cat0S 6500. I need to make sure that the appropriate COS settings are sent to the servers.
I think this is how it should be done, but need clarification..
Create class maps and a policy map that matchs the af and ef DSCP values and in the policy map set it to the right COS 3 and 5.. On the Ethernet Interface of the router that is trunked to the Cat6500 add the service-policy output policyname. Is this correct?
The 6500 is capable of trusting DSCP so there is no need to map DSCP to COS values on the router. That is required for 3548s and older switches, but unless you are running very old code you should be OK.
There is mapping in the 6500 that needs to be set, but you can use autoqos to get pretty close. This would create the global mapping, and set port 3/1 (to the router)to trust DSCP.
