SIP Trunks and device pools

I have a callmanager 5 cluster of 5 servers. I have a sip trunk to a 3825 gateway and a sip trunk to a cvp server.. My question is how does the device pool with three services come into play with sip trunks?

I am trying to make sense out how a songle sip trunl definition and the device pools and callmanager roups interact

The device pool determines the region and therefore the codec used by the trunk. Not sure if that answers your question?
