SIP URI Special characters

Hi All,

I have a problem with sending special characters in SIP INVITE from Cisco IOS GW to third party equipment. I try to send pound (#) in order to manage supplementary services, but Cisco GW replaces it with hexadecimal and the other side does not understand it.

For example:

*26#@xxxx.xxx is sent as *26%23@xxxx.xxx

According RFC2806 it looks like it is correct the # to be escaped, but RFC2543 authorizes the #.

So I'm not sure, must # be escaped or not?

Is there any way to stop this translation in cisco IOS?

Thanks in advance!
