SRST registration

CLIFFORD BECKER

Our IP telephony site has grown beyond the capacity of our SRST router. How can I restrict which phones register with the SRST router to ensure those phones will be able to make and receive calls?

I think you can do something using srst in Callmanager configuration! For example you could create a fake srst region:then create two device_pool and associate the phone the correct device_pool.

(in one device_pool you have to use the fake srst region and in the other the real one)

If you want the phone X work in srst mode associate the Device_pool_real.If you don't

associate device_pool_with_fake_srst.

To go further on this,

For the phones you don't want to do SRST, put them in their own device pool and for SRST reference choose disabled.

For the phones, who will use SRST put them in another device pool and set the SRST reference you configured or set it to use the default gateway if the phones default gateway/router is going be performing SRST function.

There is nothing fake about it.

SRST Reference:

From the drop-down list box, choose a survivable remote site telephony (SRST) reference to assign to devices in this device pool. Choose from the following options:

?Disable? If you choose this option, devices in this device pool will not have SRST reference gateways available to them.

?Use Default Gateway? If you choose this option, devices in this device pool use the default gateway for SRST.

?Existing SRST references? If you choose an SRST reference from the drop-down list, devices in this device pool will use this SRST reference gateway.
