I have been trying to upgrade some 7940's that are running a version: P003c301 to a SIP image. I want to end up with P0S3-08-6-00. I have tried starting the upgrade with very old versions of the SIP s/w, but my TFTP server keeps showing me that the phone is trying to receive a file that is in my OS79xx.txt file but the file it is requesting is a truncated name. For examplt: Im telling it to request file: P0S3-06-1-00, but it is requesting: P0S3-06-.bin...Any suggestions?

Make sure the OS79xx.txt file contains only P0S3-06-1-00 (no .bin extension) and the SIPDefault.cnf contains "image_version: P0S3-06-1-00" (no .bin extension).

Yes they do..
I also have the SipDefault.cnf file striped down to just having the image statement in it...
Thx

If you can't get the phone to request the correct file, rename the image to what it is asking for, that won't make any difference in the upgrade process.
