Using Audio sources to stress VOIP QOS

I'm looking for a way to supply/inject either test tones, voice or music as a source to inject into a voice/data stream in order to qualify and/or quantify the voice portion stats. We want to see if we can collect benchmarks or standards of performance by injecting tones or music or voice into the datastream and measure it at both endpoints; in terms of jitter, voice level adjustment, etc.

Re: Using Audio sources to stress VOIP QOS

If this is just between 2 gateways you can inject a single tone via IOS using the 'test voice port inject-tone' commands:

inject-tone ?

local Inject Toward Interface

network Inject Toward Packet Network

inject-tone network ?

1000hz Inject 1000 Hz tone

2000hz Inject 2000 Hz tone

200hz Inject 200 Hz tone

3000hz Inject 3000 Hz tone

300hz Inject 300 Hz tone

3200hz Inject 3200 Hz tone

3400hz Inject 3400 Hz tone

500hz Inject 500 Hz tone

disable End Inject tone

quiet Inject quiet tone

sweep Inject tones from 104 - 3404 Hz

This is a good tool for setting audio levels.

If you are using callmanager and IP phones, you can use the QRT feature.

Hope this helps.
