VoIP and RADIUS

I use AS5350, one week ago i faces with the following problem:

AS5350 is terminating VoIP calls, and send RADIUS packets to billing server (radius server). So now then the call is coming cisco sends radius packets to the billing server, radius server repling to cisco but some times these replies do not achieve cisco. In this case cisco send another packets to radius about this call. So radius fills this call as two different calls.

AS5350 and Billing Server operate through the Catalyst 2950T. Network is not overload.

Here is config of AS5350:

radius-server host 192.168.10.37 auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813 key XXXXXX

radius-server retransmit 1

radius-server timeout 60

radius-server directed-request

radius-server vsa send accounting

How can i solve this problem ?

Hi,

Radius is not seeing this call as two different calls.

If your billing system (using Radius) takes into consideration some Radius attributes like "Acct-Session-ID" and "Acct-Delay-Time", this will not happen. If you have written a "homemade" billing system, it is your problem, not of the Radius.

Ted Behling of Cisco has written a very good article on how to use Radius AAA for writing billing software. Go find it and read it.
