Hi
I am trying to Configuring VOIP between two sites using IDDN PRI E1 and Alcatel PBX 4400. A
Ciso 3640 router is being used as the VOIP gateway and it has the E1-PRI which connects to
the Alcatel PBX, I used the following cabling to connect the PBX and the E1-PRI -
Cisco PRI - Alcatel
RJ-45
Pin 1 <--> TX
Pin 2 <--> TX
Pin 4 <--> RX
Pin 5 <--> RX
I don't see any alarms either in the PRI or in the PRA2 Card of the PBX. Everything seems to be fine. But still the Layer2 is not getting established, If I enable debug q921 I see "Bad frame Received" messages,I tried changing the Voice card, But that didn't help. Please find the debug details below, Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Ganesh

Hi,
Check if ur PBX is using CRC4 or not and if it's acting as USER or NETWORK Side. Check also the ISDN switch-type.
Post ur conf with the E1 conf and serial conf.

Hi Feberle!
Thanks for your response, I confirmed that Alcatel is acting as Master and the Router is slave, Framing is CRC4 at the PBX and Router end. ISDN Switch type is QSIG at both ends, below is the config, Awaiting for your reply.
Thanks
Ganesh

One more thing I suspect is the Encapsulation.. Currently it is HDLC, Should it be PPP?
02-23-2004 03:42 AM
If the command "sh contro e1 1/0" says always "loss of signal" that means there is a pb between Rx and Tx.

Try this link to make sure the parameters on the Alcatel are correct.
