Cisco 524SG Handset Registration Following Reboot of UC520

Greetings, can i ask if anyone has had a similar to me when deploying the UC520 (All Versions 8 - 64 User)

I have noticed that when running IOS v12.4(20)T2 (CME Version 7.0(0)) in combination with 524SG handsets and following a cold reboot of the appliance the 524SG handsets fail to re-register and require manually power off then on again either by pulling the ethernet cable out the back of the phone or shutting down the appropriate switchport and enabling it once again.

Actual performance of the handset isnt impaired once registered however i am interested to know if anyone has experienced a similar issue, i have tested this on the the following models:

• UC520-8U-2BRI-K9
• UC520W-8U-2BRI-K9
• UC520-16U-2BRI-K9

Hi Mark,

We do not have a manufacturing release (full UC500 Software Pack) with that IOS yet. It will be posted soon. The reason why this is important is that the 521 and 524 phones have only been tested with a new firmware (not publicly available) on that IOS. Other permutations are not tested.

Having said that, let's start by verifying that you are at least running the latest software load on your CP-500 phone. Can you provide a "show ephone phone-load" ?

Thank you for your reply, i must admit im somewhat confussed as i can download the latest software pack that includes the IOS mentioned above. Please see the following image from both the download page and the attatched JPG.

Hi Mark,

We just announced the availability of a new CCA and new software packs. The 521-524 load in this packs is 8.1.16b. Please try to upgrade to that version and let us know if you still see issues.
