Cisco UC540 configuration without voice VLAN possible?

Hi,

a customer of us, wants to use Cisco Phone over WLAN.
The WLAN AccessPoints have no VLAN capabilities.

Is it possible to configure a UC540 without the use of a voice VLAN?

Can I use the phones inside the data-vlan?

regards

Matthias

Cisco UC540 configuration without voice VLAN possible?

Hi,

it's no problem to use the phones inside the data vlan, perhaps you need to have a look on QoS if you get quality problems. Actually you can put the deskphones inside a voice vlan and only the wireless phones inside the data vlan.

Keep in mind:

If you use another DHCP: Add the option 150 with the IP of the CME or manual configure the IP in the phone.

If you use another Gateway and the IP of your CME is in another subnet: Create a static route to the UC500.

best regards

Christian

Thanks for your rapid answer.

This would have been my next question. :-)
