How to have the name of the CALLED party showed on SPA phone ?

Hello all,

I have an installation with a lot of SPA504 phones.

There is a Corporate directory installed (for the moment, less than 32 entries to keep it simple as a test)

When someone dials an internal number without using the directory, (let's say 2715), he does not see the name of the persons he calls,

except if that number is in the Personal Directory (the phone doesn't use the XML directory to try and match the name).

We also noticed that if ext A calls ext B, then after that when ext B calls ext A, the name of ext B will appears (the phone has cached the name)

Also, in the SIP response (and further 100, 180 and 200) from the server, the name of the called party does not appears.

Three questions :

(1) If the server behaviour is changed (requires programming) and the SIP response (100 / 180 / 200) contains the name of the called party, will it be displayed ?

(2) If we use an LDAP directory, will the phone look up the called party name in the directory ?

(3) Is it possible to have the phone look the name in the XML ("corporate") directory ?

Best Regards,

     Xavier.

Both true. For some further details read Remote end name versus device local lists

(1) If the server behaviour is changed (requires programming) and the SIP response (100 / 180 / 200) contains the name of the called party, will it be displayed ?

Yes, sometime, see same document.

(2) If we use an LDAP directory, will the phone look up the called party name in the directory ?

(3) Is it possible to have the phone look the name in the XML ("corporate") directory ?

NO and NO. As far as I know.
