Hi All,
I upgraded to CCA 3.0 on my desktop and connected to my UC540. When I connect via Public IP and enter credentials it logs in but returns with the popup that says:
Error: Connect
com.cisco.nm.lib.cmdsvc.CmdSvc
I click ok on the popup and i can get into CCA, but if Try to access anything it just gives me the spinning wheel nothing and then i get the popup that says:
Voicemail Communication Failure (It may be unstable yadda yadda)
I can access CUE just fine; If you run diagnostics on CUE, it just says voicemail may not be operational. I upgraded OS (8.1.0) to latest when i installed CCA 3.0
The weird thing is though if I connect my laptop running CCA 2.25 through a Cisco phone that is connected via ethernet into UC540, it runs fine and no errors. CCA on my desktop is useless. The difference between the desktop and the laptop are:
Desktop connecting via Public IP to UC540 (IP from same DSL though) I did open ports 443 and 80 to the UC540.
Running CCA 3.0 with latest java update
Laptop running locally 192.168.10.x IP and CCA version 2.25
Please see attached.
I have tried resetting the UC540, but the same thing occurs.

That's not a recommended way to connect. The CCA PC needs to be on the Data VLAN of the UC500 either locally or via VPN (and certain operations shouldn't be performed over the WAN.
It sounds like you are trying to connect over the WAN and you don't want to open access to CME and CUE through the firewall.
If you connect it to a switch port, it should be fine.

It may not be java issue completely, but it seems like it somewhat is. The other question is are there any other firewall ports that need to be
open through the UC540 to remote management/access it from another public IP address.

I assumed some things would not be able to be done remotely (upgrades, etc.) But say I configured several client sites with UC Phone systems, there would be no way to save them and access them from my laptop via Public IP? It would always have to be connected via LAN or VPN?

Sure, via VPN (so you appear to be on the LAN).
