Logging into EM causes active call to drop

I am running IOS 15.0.1.XA2 on a UC520. If I have an active call and I login to another phone set up for extension mobility the login procedure seems to terminate the active call. Is this behavior by design or a bug?

I opened a case with TAC today regarding this issue.  This is a known software limitation. There are no plans to fix the problem - Probably because it is such an insignificant issue.
