Main outgoing Caller ID

Greetings, I am brand new to networking and VOIP, so please bear with me.

We have a UC520 with 4 analog FXO lines for outgoing calls.  I configured everything with CCA 2.2.2 and Software pack version 8.0.1

We'd like to have one main number show up on the outgoing caller ID regardless of what FXO line is being used.

In CCA Under Dial Plan / Outgoing it says: "Caller ID configuration is not needed.  FXO Trunks handle caller ID automatically."

I called the telco, and they could not change the caller IDs.

Is there a work around via a translation rule?

Here's part of my config file:

voice translation-rule 4

rule 15 // //

!

voice translation-rule 1111

!

voice translation-rule 1112

rule 1 /^9/ //

!

voice translation-rule 2001

!

voice translation-rule 2002

rule 1 /^6/ //

!

voice translation-rule 2222

!

!

voice translation-profile CALLER_ID_TRANSLATION_PROFILE

translate calling 1111

!

voice translation-profile CallBlocking

translate called 2222

!

voice translation-profile OUTGOING_TRANSLATION_PROFILE

translate called 1112

!

voice translation-profile PROFILE_ALL_FXO

translate calling 4

!

voice translation-profile XFER_TO_VM_PROFILE

translate redirect-called 2002

Re: Main outgoing Caller ID

This is not possible on FXO. It is not a Cisco limitation. This is controlled by your CO/PSTN provider. Think of your phone at home. Typically, the only control that you have is to display it or not, i.e. caller id blocking (for outbound calls).

Thanks,

Marcos

Makes sense.  Thanks!

Re: Main outgoing Caller ID

Since the Telco line is the PSTN Interface, they are the Caller ID, not the UC500.

In the case of a SIP Trunk, your caller ID can be one of the DIDs defining the small business, similarily if using T1-PRI it can be a DID.

A good case to go SIP Trunks maybe :-)
