Phone Switchport Dropping Connection

We have a newer UC540 installation with SPA504 phones.

The customer is saying:

The connection is being dropped from the phone back to the persons laptop or PC.  If they plug the cable from the PC to the wall, and not through the phone, the connection is great.

Basically their internet stops working,

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

What kind of switch is the phone connected to and what is the path back to the UC500?

I had a similar problem with a PC that had it's WOL and magic packet turned on. Turned it off no more problems.
