Simple FXS port no access digit dialing (for Fax and EFTPOS)

There may be several ways to do this, but with some assistance for the big C guys (cheers Luke and Dave) here is a simple solution for no access digit dialing for FXS ports. (that is, can dial the number directly without using 0 or 9 to select 'outside line')

Because the FXS port is a skinny controlled port, we apply a translation profile to the ephone-dn for the port to add the access digit (in our case 0)

So, create the translation rule and profile

EXAMPLE:

conf t

voice translation-rule 10001

rule 1 // /0/

voice translaton-profile FXS_FAX_EFTPOS

translate called 10001

end

Then, on ephone-dn 5 (if that is the port you are using, ephone-dn5 is 0/0/0 of the fxs for this example)

add the translation profile to the port

conf t

telephony-service

ephone-dn 5

translation-profile incoming FXS_FAX_EFTPOS

end

So now when dialing out on this port, the leading 0 for outside number does not need to be added. However you cannot dial internally from this port. (generally not an issue on a fax or eftpos terminal)
