If I had Unified Call connector for Salesforce or Microsoft CRM installed and wished also to use the new Smart Call Connector advanced client for Presence etc, would the 2 operate together? I have a feeling that they would not.
Confirming that at this time, CRM/SalesForce etc cannot access the telephony services concurrently with the CallConnector. Note -- that the CallConnector Advanced Client supports Highlight-and-Dial, as well as Drag-n-Drop as methods for making calls from any windows application.
In Highlight and Dial -- the user would highlight the number in their currect Windows application and then click on the CallConnector icon in the system tray.
For applications that support Drag-n-Drop, the number can be highlighted and dragged to an idle line in the Call Window to make the call.
For applications running in the IE browser, the Highlighter button can be used to convert a telephone number to a dialable link. Note -- this feature does have some limitations in recognizing numbers, so you should verify that the numbers in your required web pages can be converted to links.
