SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

After much searching I have located the call disconnect tones for South Africa but listed in Sipura-speak as 400@-30,400;@-30;4(.5/.5/1+2)

the Tone tab on the SPA400 web inteface lists the config options in a different format.

Tone on fraction = ? %
High cutoff frecuency = ? Hz
Low cutoff frecuency = ? Hz
First Tone Detection Time
On = ? ms
Off = ? ms
Repeat Count = ?

2nd Tone Detection Time
On = ? ms
Off = ? ms
Repeat Count = ?

I would be immensely grateful if someone could help me translate.

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

beckerli,

According to the formula produced and the research I have done, try these parameters:

44%

460

340

On=500

Off=500

repeat count 4

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Here is what the parameters mean in your formula:

425@-30,425@-30;2(.3/.4/1+2) where 425=tone frequency, -30dB=level, 2=number of cycles of tone 1 (third parameter in parenthesys) 0.3s ON and 0.4s OFF

Tone on = 40%

High Cutoff = 450

Low Cutoff = 400

First Tone

On = 300

Off = 400

Repeat = 2

PLEASE post your results.

can you please explain where the tone on fraction value of 40% came from?

how did you come up with high =450 and low=400 while both frequency 1 and 2 are equal to 425?

appreciate your help

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Hello,

you know that the tone is formed by mixing of 2 tones with different (or equal) frequencies.

So, in your example:

425@-30,425@-30;2(.3/.4/1+2)

- 425Hz is the tone frequency of the first tone,

- 425Hz is the tone frequency of the second tone.

On the other hand, low cutoff frequency and high cutoff frequency define a band where 2 frequency should be in.

Since in your example 2 frequencies are 425 Hz, it is enough to specify range between 400 Hz and 450 Hz.

About "Tone on = 40%".

(third parameter in parenthesys) 0.3s ON and 0.4s OFF,

which means that the mixture of 2 tones will play for 0.3 seconds and will be silent for 0.4 seconds.

The whole cycle is 0.3 + 0.4 = 0.7 seconds.

I suppose that "Tone on" shows what part of the whole cycle the tone is played:

0.3 / 0.7 = 42.86%

Of course, if I didn't understand something properly, feel free to correct me :)

Hello everyone,

After reviewing this post and contacting Cisco Support with a similar problem, I wanted to ask if someone out there has the disconnect tones for the Venezuelan area.

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Juan,

Thank you for your prompt reply.  From what I've read on 3AM SYSTEM's website, some countries use the Congestion Tone as the Disconnect tone; and, since your table doesn't show a Disconnect Tone for Venezuela, I will try to configure the parameters specified for the Congestion Tone.

Given this case, can someone please confirm which parameters should I configure based on this Sipura format: 425@-10; 10(0.25/0.25/1) ?  I know that some of it should look like this:

Tone on = ???

High Cutoff = Above 425??

Low Cutoff = Below 425???

First Tone

On = 250

Off = 250

Repeat = 1

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Gents,

For those interested, I want to update this discussion on what I tried while configurind the Disconnect Tone for Venezuela.  Based on Juan's table and the information found on www.3amsystems.com website, I used the Busy Tone as the Disconnect tone:  425@-10;10(0.5/0.5/1).

After a little bit of trial and error, this is what I used on the SPA400 / Tone configuration tab:

Tone on fraction:     40%

High cutoff frequency:     450Hz

Low cutoff frequency:     400Hz

First Tone On 500(ms)

First Tone     Off     500(ms)

Repeat count : 10

It's been working fine for the last couple of days without a single FXO port stuck in the Off-Hook position.

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Kaleco,

I am glad to hear the information I found was helpful to you, I just saw your replies and that website 3AM was indeed where I found the information. I also noticed that they did not specify the disconect tone so you assumed well in trying the congestion tone.

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Oh, and another question (please bare with me), how do I translate the -10db on 425@-10 into the SPA400 configuration?

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Try these:

350 @ -30,350 @ -30;4(.25/.25/1+2)

Bill

You could also contact a local phone carrier and they should be able to give them to you.

Re: SPA 400 Call Disconnect Tones

Thank you very much, Bill :)

Actually, the client is from Armenia.

He tried the settings that you proposed to me:

350 @ -30,350 @ -30;4(.25/.25/1+2)

I advised him to enter the following in Tone Tab of SPA400:

Tone on fraction: 49%

High cutoff frequency: 400 Hz

Low cutoff frequency: 300 Hz

First tone On: 250ms

First tone Off: 250ms

Repeat count: 4

The problem is that after the call is finished, the PSTN line is not freed.

The only solution is to assign "Tear down FXO port when silence detected for: 20 s"

But this sometimes leads to interruption during an active call.

That's why I am asking you for Call disconnect tone settings for Armenia.

Evidently they are different from Russian Federation's Call disconnect tone settings.

Thank you very much for your help.
