I have a client wanting to use group pickup for the main office phones. I have set this up and found it takes multiple steps to connect the calls. Step 1- press Group Pickup button, Step 2- Once system verifies incoming line press Dial, Step 3- Dial again. What if multiple calls are coming in? Can we setup multiple pickup groups? As it appears in the system now you can only have a group pickup. Can't the process be streamlined by have groups and a pickup button designated within the group? Maybe on a future upgrade?
If there are multiple calls, you still can use the single group pickup button to pickup these calls. The calls will be answered with the private extension and then shared or additional extension. How many calls can be answered by the single group pickup button depends on how many concurrent calls for each extension and how many extensions have been defined for the phone.
Each phone only can has one group pick up button. You may want to set another button as line monitor button which can be used as an Individual Pickup button to pick up a call that is ringing on the specified extension. If multiple calls are ringing, the first received call is picked up.
