UC540 / SPA 504 - How to pickup call on hold on another extension

Quick question....  (Yes, I read the guides and searched the forum)....

I have a client who has one scenario they want to fix.

Call comes in, user at EXT 207 places call on hold.   Physically walks down to the office of user at EXT 205 and tells her, "There's a call for you".

How does EXT 205 pick up the call that EXT 207 placed on hold?

If they hit the flashing button that corresponds to EXT 207's call that is on hold, it just rings EXT 207 I believe.

Not there, so I can't test it.....

Thank you!

Hello,

You have to use a shared line in order to do this. The other option is to park the call. You can map the park slots to the line buttons.

Thanks,

Thank you....   Still trying to figure out the best way for this small company to deal with the simplist of issues.

Setting up the park now, and will try that.

Guess it will workj like this:

Park button on their phones are programmed.

In a phone call, they simply hit that park button, which sends the caller to the park slot, and  then they can walk their happy self down the hall, or page over the PA system to announce a call is parked.

Sound about right?

Thanks!

Hello,

Sounds right to me.

Also, not all users have to have a park button assigned to the phones line button. You can always dial the park extension to pickup the park line.

Thanks,

-john
