We currently have a UC540 and are looking to incorporate an ASA 5505 for site-to-site VPN connections. Becasue the UC540 only supports VPN 'clients', we want to use the ASA to allow site-to-site VPN connections for SCCP phones that don't currently have VPN client capability built-in....We want the UC540 to pass the phone subnet range thru the ASA to allow SCCP phones to register with the UC540.
Are you planning on using the ASA 5505 at a remote site and build a site-to-site VPN to the UC540 or use the ASA in front of the UC540 and terminate the VPN on it instead of the UC540? Please note that the UC540 does support site-to-site VPNs, so either scenario will work.
