AnyConnect Link Speed dramatically less than physical link?

Is there a reason why, even though my ASA5510 is connected to a 1Gbps uplink to my Icorporate ISP, and my corporate ISP's bandwidth is 50Mbps bi-directional, and my client is connected to a 300Mbps wireless uplink and my home ISP connection ot 50Mbps bi-directional, when I launch the AnyConnect Secure Mobility client, my Windows 7 machine claims that the Link Speed of the connection is only 2 Mpbs and even then, if I try and perform a file copy between my client and a server across the VPN tunnel, I never get more than 800kbps transfer speed.

AnyConnect version: 3.1.04072

ASA Version: 7.1(4)

VPN Transport: SSL VPN w/DTLS

We have this problem too, except for it's hit or miss.  Sometimes a user will get a good enough connection sometimes it's unbearably slow.
