I have been trying to install AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1.00495 but I get the following error message:

"Failed to install AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1.00495 with installer error: Incorrect function. A VPN connection cannot be established"

Suggest something to solve this error.

Forgot to mention that my system is Windows 7 64 bit

If possible please attach a screen shot.

Are you trying to install the Anyconnect manually (using an msi file) or through the ASA.

While installing make sure you do not have any firewall or spy ware on.

If possible try to download a fresh copy of teh software from the site as it is possible that this copy of the software is corrupted..

I also get this same error, except my operating system is Windows 7 Professional (SP1) 32-bit. Below is a bit more detail....

Details:

Browser: Chrome (but I've tried all 3 major browsers)

Firewall: off

Defender: off

Cleaned registry for Cisco and AnyConnect keys

reboot

Goto: vpn.agel.com (auto-install process begins)

It gets as far as downloading the client install file, but at the end of the download the following error appears:

Failed to install AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1.00495 with installer error: Incorrect function. A VPN connection cannot be established.

Download from the manual link

Execute the install file (anyconnect-win-3.1.04063-web-deploy-k9)

I get the "Open File - Security Warning" dialog

Click on "Run"

The application never runs. Nothing further happens.

Hope this helps!

Exactly the same for me.  version seems to be 3.1.04063

I CAN get this to run on my old Win XP system..

Here is a screen shot showing the error.

I also am running windows 7 64 bit.

We are having the same problem. Turned of firewall and mcAfee. Downgraded version of java to 6 from 7. Ran Tweaking.com. Checked registry for hkeys. Done all the usual and still this wont install.

We have the exact same problem...  Has anyone found a solution yet?

I gave up....  Cisco is non-responsive.

They want you to have a service contract and since I'm just a consultant

to the customer system I'm trying to connect to, they don't care.  And MOST of

their other users can connect.  In fact, on THIS computer I can get a VPN

connection with a different version of Cisco VPN client, but this version just

won't work!

  PS: I shorted Cisco stock!

I was able to install the client correctly by creating a new user temp account and using that account to install the client globally on the machine. after successful installation delete the temp user account. this worked for me and was easy. it might not work for every instance of this issue.

That worked, thnx

This worked for me as well, Thanks.
