we are looking at migrating our remote access users from the traditional Cisco IPSEC VPN Client to the AnyConnect client and we are currently testing things out with AnyConnect.
We use RSA software tokens for authenticating our remote users. With the traditional IPSEC VPN client, we use the "Application Launcher" to run the RSA software token program at the same time users attempt to connect to the VPN, for their convenience.
But is there a means to do similar with the AnyConnect client? If so, how is this achieved?
thanks - not sure if I'm missing a trick somewhere but, as far as I can tell, the OnConnect-Script only runs after the user has actually authenticated and connected to the VPN?
But that defeats the purpose for this particular task as what I actually want to do is have the RSA Software token Application start up as they initiate the VPN connection (so they can then enter the correct authentication details into the AnyConnect client when prompted)
Am i misunderstanding or is there a way to have the scripts execute as the user initiates the VPN connection (i.e. similar to the Application Launcher on the traditional IPSEC VPN Client) rather than after they have already authenticated?
You are right, the OnConnect-Script runs too late for your needs. But scripting could still be a solution. The client has an API and can also be called from the command-line. With some scripting it could be possible to automate that.
