I have an issue with a VPN connection from a PIX515 to a PIX501. Periodically the AS/400's print queues will fail to print to printers on the other end of the VPN tunnel. The customer has called IBM and has checked and double checked every printer releated parameter with no no problems found. The printers are Lexmark and network attached. Suddenly, for seemingly no reason at all, the printers' print jobs will be delivered. The VPN pipe seems to be fine, in that other IP traffic has no issues at all. They can access the local mail server, shared directories, and telnet to the AS/400 at all times with no problems. Local printing to the remote printers works well, so there doesn't seem to be an issue with the printers directly.
The VPN tunnel is a backup for a point to point T1 circuit. They never have issues with remote printing while on the T1.
Has anyone seen and hopefully fixed a problem of this nature?
