Hi,

I'm trying to configure a new ASA 5510, the show version output show the activation key being used is not valid. Also I'm not able to perform the "setup" command too....Im getting the follwoing error...

ciscoasa(config)# setup

No inside interface. Can not continue.

ciscoasa(config)#

The show version output displays the following message...

"The Running Activation Key is not valid, using default settings:"

Can someone guide me to solve this problem.

Regards

Look at the command reference:

"Before you can use the setup command, you must have an inside interface already configured."

Commands to configure inside interface

Seems like your Activation key is having some problems. You might want to contact Cisco and make sure the activation key is correct.

You would need to provide the serial number of the unit.

Rate this post if it helps.
