We have a scenario where we have an ASA 5520 with IPS (AIP SSM). There are servers behind the firewall. Users from outside access the servers via SSL which gets terminated at the servers. However as the traffic passing through the ASA is encrypted it cannot be examined by the AIP SSM. I know SSL termination can be done at the ASA but is the following scenario possible:-
SSL gets termiated at the ASA. Traffic is decrypted and passed to AIP SSM for inspection. After that it is again "encrypted back" and send to the server. Something like "SSL bridging". Is this supported on the ASA?
