ASA context1 with failover showing 99% memory used

One of my ASA is running multiple context (2) and failover "active/standby". One of the context is showing 99% memory used. How do I clear up of free up the memory?

Reboot would be the easist way :). If that is a possible in your particular environment?

Also have a look at this link:

Re: ASA context1 with failover showing 99% memory used

Hi Farrukh,

I thought of rebooting but the reload option is not available. I would have to physically reboot the unit since it is at remote location.

Re: ASA context1 with failover showing 99% memory used

Try to pin down the process that is utilizing most resources. Clear the xlate and arp tables.

In fact do a 'clear local-host all'

'clear xlate' 'clear arp' and see if it gets any better.

Re: ASA context1 with failover showing 99% memory used

Both commands did not help. I went to the remote site and I physically rebooted the firewall but context (ctx) still showing 100% of memory used while context (admin) is showing 0%.
