I have successfully configured the ASA 5505 for remote access VPN. All machines run windows 7 and i can succesfully connect to the network and browse files on the server by using the IP address, but i cannot ping the Server from the remote machines, but with windows XP machines i can, for days i have banging my head against the wall. I have an application that requires that when connected through the VPN client, it should be able to ping the server. Please help resolve this.

I honestly don't think is a problem with the operating system (7 or XP).
Are all the computers part of the same network,subnet,segment?
The computers running 7 can succesfully connect with VPN they just can't PING?
Federico.

All the computers can connect. I have been banging my head on the wall for over a week now, changed configs and all until i tested with windows XP machines. All 3 win XP machines worked well, and all 4 windows 7 machines fail to ping. Using the same network to connect!

Ronald,
Are you able to ping other devices on the same Network as the Server successfully;
if not may be worthwhile checking Windows7 Firewall.

I managed to solve this by adding a static route on all my windows 7 computers. works fine now.
