Cisco 4.x VPN prevents pings

After I install the Cisco VPN 4.6x client, I can't ping the workstation. This is even when the VPN client is not running. We did not see this with the 3.x client.

Where is the Cisco VPN client configured to prevent inbound connections?

Re: Cisco 4.x VPN prevents pings

Hello,

VPN Clients have inbuilt firewalls.

It is a very basic firewall which only let DHCP and DNS packets come in.

This fw is always on means, if you have installed the vpn client the fw is active whether you are running the client or not.

Right click on the padlock in the task bar and you will see a check mark on the Statefull Firewall Always on menu. Turn it off
