I've read what seems like hundreds of questions regarding using both user password auth and mac-address filtering. None of them really answer the question.
I need to use BOTH:
a) User needs to auth against a Radius Server. (Got that working now with AD)
b) I need to deny unapproved machines from connecting.
For example, the user bootlegs a copy of the client and profile to their home machine. (Please spare me the "users should never get this info" speeches...It happens) They then setup a personally owned machine and try to connect. Since the user already has a company owned laptop they have RADIUS rights to login. And with little effort, we now have an unauthorized machine on the network. (And all the junk their kids have pulled down on the machine..)
Using a PIX 515e w/ v6.3... Can it be done? If an Access Control Server is required, then what open-source alternatives are out there and working with the hardware/ios mentioned?
With the economy in the tank, no new Cisco gear/software allowed this year.
Any help would be appreciated.. I see this has been asked over and over, but the answers are all over the place and none of them conclusive.
