D-link VPN through a PIX

About to try a site to site VPN using two D-link DIR 130s; one side will be clean, the other going through a PIX.

Two questions; will the PIX create issues , and should I place the D-link inside our outside the PIX ?

Re: D-link VPN through a PIX

Hi,

If the D-link supports IPsec there should be no issues.

If you place the D-link outside the PIX there are no issues either.

If you place the D-link inside the PIX you can do it but check the following:

The IPsec ports should be allowed through the PIX:

ESP (IP protocol 50)

UDP 500

UDP 4500

Also, the PIX require a static NAT for the IP of the D-link.

Hope it helps.

Federico.
