DMZ setup for extend mail server function

We are interested in placing out Exchange server into production and wanted to place it into the DMZ to keep it clear of other machines on the network.

The challenge part is this:

The machine as it stands today pulls updates for AV and Windoze from other servers on the LAN so it would have to be able to access the internal LAN, we have hardened the server to provide a good measure of protection (as much as you can these days) but also plan to do a smtp relay or a exchange front/back config in the future. Thanks for all your input guys.

Re: DMZ setup for extend mail server function

This sample configuration demonstrates how to set up the PIX Firewall for access to a mail server located on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) network.
