Encrypting bridged traffic at 100Mbps?

Hi,

first of all, is it possible to encrypt bridged traffic (decnet and ip over ethernet)?

I'm thinking along the lines of bridging (irb/crb?) between an ethernet interface and a gre tunnel, and placing a crypto map on the tunnel interface.

Would this work, or can anyone suggest another solution?

Secondly, what hardware would one need to implement this for a full-duplex 100Mbps connection?

A 7206VXR-225 with VAM2 ? How do the 7300 and 7400 series compare to this regarding ipsec performance?

Thanks for any input!

Herbert
