Hi.
I have an ASA5510 talking to a Cisco 800 Series router with Bootstrap version 12.3 providing a site to site VPN. I am seeing intermittent drops in the connection and the transfer rates are very low.
87MB's is transfering at between 80 & 90K per second.
The 5510 has a 100M internet pipe and the 800 series router connects to a contended 8MB line. (ADSL)
What transfer rates should i be seeing and if there any way of fine tuning this connection?
Paul.

Hi Paul,
Which direction are you experiencing the slow transfer on?
From the 5510 -> 800 or the other way around?
Are there any errors or collisions seen on the outside interface of the 800 due to speed/duplex mismatch?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi,
I am testing from the 800 to the 5510 and to another 5505 in another site. Mesh topology in use here.
I have checked the interfaces and there are no collisions or duplex mismatches.
A test from both locations shows me taking almost 35mins to copy a 70MB folder from each of the other sites.
Its really strange. Both ASA's are up to the latest rev's in software.
The internet connection here will be upgraded in the next couple of weeks so the 800 series router will have a 20mb internet connection. the upload speed is pretty low, around 1-2mb but download should hit 15mb max, its an ADSL delivery platform.
Rgds,
Paul.
