HELP!!! AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client can't be installed on this disk... (Mac)

Trying to VPN for work. It was working fine before yesterday.

Continue to get the following error message:

AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client can't be installed on this disk. New version 3.1.07021 of the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is already installed.

I have tried my company's help-desk, an Apple guru, and Apple themselves. No one can find the alleged "installed" version. I have tried the termnal commands, but still it is not working. Below is what I get back:

sudo /usr/libexec/MobilityClient/bin/uninstall_MobilityClient.command

Jennifers-iMac:~ jrparks15$ cd /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin

-bash: cd: /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin: No such file or directory

Jennifers-iMac:~ jrparks15$ ls

Desktop        Downloads    Library        Music        Public

Documents    Dropbox        Movies        Pictures

Any advice? Has anyone else had this issue. I'm at my wits end. I have the latest software for Yosemite, I've looked in every possible place and cannot find the Mobility Client to correctly uninstall it and reinstall what I need to work from home.

I'm assuming you've tried the Apple pkgutil tool to uninstall it.

If you haven't, try this from an OS X terminal - run:

sudo pkgutil --forget com.cisco.pkg.anyconnect.vpn

Hi Marvin,

I have not tried that command, but I will do that tonight as soon as I get home and report back. Thanks!

yes it worked thank you

It worked great !!! Thank you

is asking a password.

This worked for me too. Thank you

I used your terminal entry.  I got command not found.

sudo: pkgutil--forget: command not found

Thank you for posting this was super helpful!

Dunno much about MACs but had this issue with a windows PC and removed a folder for Anyconnect from directory then installed with no issues. If there is a similar thing in MAC world probably give it a go.
