Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to have a PPP connection between a Cisco 2600 AUX port and Windows 7 dial up connection. I am using a roll-over cable between the serial port of the PC and the aux port. The cable seems O.K since I can do telnet via the AUX port. I would like to know if there is something wrong with my 2600 or Windows 7 configuration
Here is my 2600 configuration:
interface Async65
ip address 10.10.10.10 255.255.255.0
encapsulation ppp
async mode interactive
peer default ip address 10.10.10.11
no cdp enable
ppp authentication chap
line aux 0
password cisco
login
modem InOut
transport input all
escape-character NONE
autoselect during-login
autoselect ppp
stopbits 1
speed 19200
flowcontrol none
Windows 7 configuration
I have created a modem connection using a communication cable between two computer and the serial port 1 with the Phone and Modem connection
I have set up a new connection or network link with the network and Sharing Center.
The connection is set up as a dial up connection with a modem define as Communications Cable between two computers modem and used a dummy number as phone number.
Properties are configured as 19200 bit/sec with no hardware flow control and I have enabled PAP as protocols.
Windows 7 cannot connect to the aux port and keep giving me an 777 error meaning that the remote modem is not ready.
I am running out of ideas, help with be really appreciated.
Thanks
Stephane
