IDS on port 80?

Folks,

Can i access my ids at port 80?

when i run the setup and specify port 80, it does not do anything for me, do i need to do anything else?

You are given options to use any port number between 1 to 65535 for the web services, but it is not ideal to use any well-known port (1-1023 range).

Default is tcp 443 @ https (encrypted)

If you use/change to port 80 (still encrypted), you basically don't have to specify any port number like "http://x.x.x.x:80".

BTW, after you changed the port to port 80, do you reboot the IDS? This is the only thing you need to do to allow IDS to load the changes.
