Installing Additional NIC in ids 4215

i have IDS 4215 , running image :

IPS-4215-K9-sys-1.1-a-5.1-7-E1.img

i installed NIC card in it (Realtek)

when restart, it didn't detect the installed card. so is there any steps during the reload to do?

Re: Installing Additional NIC in ids 4215

When I was building "Franken" IDS to prepare

for the CCIE Security lab, I always use

Intel EtherExpress NIC. It always works with

both version 4.1 and 5.1. I don't think

Realtek is supported due to drivers issues.

Use this card:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-EtherExpress-PRO-100-S82557-10-100-PCI-Network_W0QQitemZ250228619990QQihZ015QQcategoryZ11182QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

The best card is Intel® EtherExpress PRO/100 S82559. I know that both Cisco Pix firewall

and Cisco IDS use this card, last time I

check

Have fun!!!!
