Issue with connection profile 'disappearing' after network object name change ?

Stephen Carter

Hi to all,

I have a simple question.

Should a connection profile physically disappear from the GUI configuration of an ASA after changing the name within the object setting field ?

So, steps :-

1. Add 1.1.1.1 /24 as remote-customer-lna

2. Add connection profile, adding in the remote networks as above.

3. Profile shows in connection profiles.

4. Edit name in firewall objects to as above but change lna to lan.

5. View connection profile and it's now not shown.

I can't to find an reference to whether or not you should or shouldn't be able to do it.

Any answers will be gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Are you saying the connection profile completely disappears, or that it's still there but it still contains the old name?

Between step 4 and step 5, do you apply the changes?

I tried it, and (after applying the changes) I still see the connection profile and I see correct new name in the connection profile.

I tested with ASDM 6.4(7) so maybe try an ASDM upgrade if you're running an older version.

Herbert,

Thanks for that.

I'm actually on 6.4(5) - so will look at upgrading and see what happens.
