the problem looks to be solved, I got the answer from Cisco on Partner Help and you
were right, it can be done directly to Security Plus. Here is the answer from Cisco :
You can upgrade the ASA5505 to security plus directly, no matter the amount of users you are licensed for. Security Plus License enables:
- VLAN Trunking - 20 security interfaces (up from 3) - 25 VPN tunnels (up from 10) - 25,000 concurrent connections (up from 10,000) - Stateless Failover (up from no failover)
You can order this license in two different ways: electronic or paper. The electronic license is ordered via the eDelivery program, that is available only for specific partners. For instructions on how to proceed, please refer to: http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/tools/edelivery.html
Please find attached a quote for the license, both electronic (L-ASA5505-SEC-PL=) and paper (ASA5505-SEC-PL=) versions. Pick whichever fits best for your customer. Let me know if this fulfills your request or if you are looking for additional information.
Login to the FXOS chassis manager.
Direct your browser to https://hostname/, and log-in using the user-name and password.
