We are anticipating one problem regarding VPn tunnel formation.
We are using 3845 router dedicated for VPN termination on it's ethernet port.
We anticipate we will be having 600 VPN tunnels which will terminate on this router. Plus we plan to have ISDN backup to all these VPN's. SO in all we are likely to have 1200 tunnels. Among them ISDN will be only as backup.
What we are looking for is that --- will our router 3845 with 226 mb of memory will be able to suastin so many tunnels.
Or does it depend on data . Is is recomended to break tunnels in between and form the next tunnel ?
All ISDN lines will terminate on distributation layer router and distribution layer routers located at different places will be then connceted to 3845 by leased lines of sufficient bandwidth. ( By dedicated 7805 series routers for wan connectivity.) ISDN lines will be mostly will be used as backup to serial lines , so if one location is working on ISDN the tunnel for the same location over serial is most likely to be down.
