Limiting traffic speed rate per ip/per interface.

Hey there,

Maybe someone can also help me with my next problem, I need to limit the bandwidth speed per ips or block of ips, for incoming and outgoing traffic through the asa 5505.

any ideas? was thinking of service-policy but was not sure if it limits inbound or outbound traffic....or maybe both?

any ways you may think of i will be happy to hear of.

Hi,

the ASA hat limited QoS functionality compared to a Router.

If you apply a service policy to an interface/vlan (not globally), it is applied in the outbound direction. You could then police traffic based on ACL. Shaping can only be done with class-default, meaning all traffic.

I have hardly used this feature, so I can't tell you much more.
