Mac to Ip

Dear all,

I have 3500 switch, my query is that I can get the mac address of the device to which it is attached , but I also want to know Ip address of respective mac address.

Do Pls Help.

Issue "Sh cdp nei detail" to get the IP address, then issue a "sh arp" and map the already known IP addresses to the MAC address. Ofcourse, this can be acheived onyl if CDP is enabled.

you need to find the layer3 device (default router) for the VLAN that port is in, and check the ARP table on it. The 3500 switch is layer2 only and knows nothing of IP addresses bevcause they are a feature of layer3.
